Padel has transformed my life in ways I never imagined. It’s not just a sport—it’s a passion, a journey, and a source of personal growth that continues to inspire me every day. My name is Sandra López, and I am proud to be one of the leading forces promoting the development of padel in Ireland.
A Life Transformed by Padel
I first picked up a padel racket at 39 years old with no prior experience in sports, and I had no idea that it would lead me to where I am today. Over the past decade, padel has completely changed my life—not just physically, but socially and emotionally.
Through padel, I have had the privilege of meeting incredible people from all over the world—players, coaches, and fellow enthusiasts who share the same love for the game. Some of my closest friendships have been formed on the court, proving that padel is more than just competition—it’s about connection, community, and shared experiences.
The sport has also given me the opportunity to travel across Europe, visiting different clubs, playing in tournaments, training with top players, and learning from the best. Every trip, every match, and every event has brought new friendships, new lessons, and new memories. Padel has opened doors to experiences I never dreamed of, and it continues to do so every single day.
A Commitment to Growing the Game
But my journey has not just been about personal growth—it has been about giving back to the sport that has given me so much. I have dedicated over 5,200 hours to padel in the last 10 years, including:
✅ Competing in tournaments and rankings
✅ Training with top players and coaches
✅ Organizing padel events and leagues
✅ Promoting padel at local, national, and international levels

I have also been affiliated with both the Irish Padel Federation and the Spanish Padel Federation, allowing me to bring an international perspective to padel in Ireland and strengthen connections between different padel communities.
A Mission to Empower Women & Inspire the Next Generation
As much as padel has given me, I am now focused on giving back to the sport and shaping its future. One of my biggest goals is to empower women and encourage more female players to step onto the court. I know firsthand how intimidating it can be to start something new, especially in sports. But I want to show women that padel is for everyone, no matter their experience, background, or age.
At the same time, I am deeply committed to developing young talent. With padel officially set to become an Olympic sport in 2032, this is the perfect time to invest in the next generation of players. I want to help juniors train, compete, and believe in their potential, so that one day, we might see Irish players competing on the Olympic stage.
More Than Just a Sport – A Way of Life
Padel has given me friendships, adventures, confidence, and a true sense of belonging. It has shown me that it’s never too late to start something new, to push past limits, and to make a difference. I want to share this passion with as many people as possible, because I know firsthand how powerful this sport can be—not just on the court, but in life.
I am Sandra López, The Queen of Padel in Ireland, and my journey is only just beginning!
