As the Queen of Padel, it is with immense pride and admiration that I reflect upon the remarkable performance of Team Ireland at the Six Nations Padel Tournament held in Murcia from February 10 to 12, 2025. This prestigious event brought together the finest veteran players from across Europe, and Ireland’s participation was nothing short of inspiring.
The Six Nations Padel Tournament is a distinguished competition that celebrates both the heritage of the sport and the enduring spirit of its players. Representing their countries were teams from France, Switzerland, England, Ireland, Scotland, and Monaco.
Each country fielded three pairs, with each pair’s combined age exceeding 100 years, ensuring a display of seasoned expertise and strategic play. The competition was structured in a round-robin format, with each nation facing off in a series of matches. The team accumulating the most victories at the end emerged as the champion.
Team Ireland’s journey through the tournament was a proud moment for Irish padel. Facing off against seasoned competitors, the Irish squad showcased grit, tactical intelligence, and heart. Whether it was tight net volleys or deep corner lobs, they brought flair and fire to every match.
Their performance reflected the steady growth of padel in Ireland — a country where the sport is gaining momentum and passion is spreading fast. While the final standings didn’t put Ireland at the top, the players won the crowd’s hearts and earned the respect of their peers.
At the core of Team Ireland’s strength was their unshakeable unity. Each pair played not just for themselves, but for their teammates and country. The sideline was constantly buzzing with encouragement, high-fives, and that signature Irish energy.
Their efforts went beyond the matches — they built connections with teams from across Europe, strengthening Ireland’s presence on the international padel map.
The Six Nations Padel Tournament in Murcia was not just a showcase of talent — it was a celebration of spirit. Ireland’s representation was a shining example of how far the sport has come, and how much further it can go.
As the Queen of Padel, I raise my padel racquet in salute to Team Ireland. Their determination, spirit, and sportsmanship are what this sport is all about. The Emerald Isle has lit a spark in the world of padel — and I, for one, can’t wait to see it blaze.
With admiration and pride,
